Clinton L. Jackson Candidate for Spring-Ford School Board

My name is Clinton L. Jackson and I am running for a seat on the Spring-Ford School Board in Region 2.

I have lived in the Spring-Ford Area School District for the last 11 years. I am seeking to become a board member because I have a daughter in first grade at Evans Elementary and will have another daughter entering kindergarten in the fall. Since I will have children in the school system for the next 13 years I want to contribute and have an impact on their education as well other children in the district.

I have much to offer, including extensive school construction experience. During the last eight years, as a senior project manager, I was involved in a $400 million school building initiative in New Jersey. In 2005 I was promoted to Program Director. This position includes oversight of new construction (from design through construction) and also renovation of active schools.

My experience provides insight into operating schools in a cost effective manner from a facilities perspective. I also gained experience working with school superintendents, their staff, the school board, parent groups and the community.

I was educated in the public school system in Florida. I have a BS in Architectural Engineering Technology from Florida A&M University. My parents are both educators in Florida.

My community involvement has included serving as a past member of the Providence View Homeowners Association. I am currently an advisor to Kappa League, a mentoring program for young men in grades 9-12. I also serve as a volunteer coach at the Spring Valley YMCA, coaching outdoor soccer, indoor soccer and indoor basketball.

I am married to Dr. Barbara L. Hewitt, a Senior Associate Director of Career Services at the University of Pennsylvania. We live with our daughters, Sierra and Jordan (and Masie, our floppy ear rabbit).
