To continue an effective Police Department
The primary duty of a Mayor in a Borough or Township in the state of Pennsylvania is to be the Civilian Leader of the Police Department. I take this responsibility very seriously. We have an outstanding Police Chief, John Zimath. He was appointed under my recommendation upon the retirement of our prior chief. John, is young energetic and enthusiastic. He has brougt his fresh outlook to the department. We have updated our computer system to face the challenges of the 21st century. He enlists the cooperation of the Delaware County District Attorney's Criminal Insvestigation Division when needed and is tireless in introducing new training to both himself and our officers. He manages the budget - getting the best bang for the buck and works in coordination with the chairman of the police committee, Vincent Berry, Jr. and our Borough Manager, Marius Russo. As Mayor, I will put our police department up against any in Delaware County.
