Commitment:

I am a 23-year resident of West Chester Area School District, and have two children who attended their entire school years (K-12) here in the district. This has given me a unique perspective on the workings of our school district and its many strengths, as well as in the areas that I can help improve. My parents are also long term residents, keeping me in tune with the needs of the retired taxpayers of our district. I assure you that I will commit to the taxpayers; administration, teachers and the students to ensure all voices are heard and understood. I will be fiscally responsible to make ensure the budget is balanced, and tax increases are minimized. I will also ensure the school district's excellent academic and technological reputation continues to grow to be the best in our area.

Involvement:

My many years of involvement with the academic, athletic and administrative departments & initiatives give me a distinct advantage over other candidates. I have worked closely with officials from two high schools + Henderson and Rustin + and have close working relationships with administrative officials that oversee the entire district. This exposure in the community gives me great visibility, and people will feel that they have a board member who is accessible and concerned with their needs.

Knowledge:

In addition to my involvement in many programs and contributing to the election of key Athletic and Academic Department officials in the WCASD. I have an extensive track record of accomplishments, and my records in the community are proven. I will use my many years of experience in the engineering, project management, finance, information technology, and construction management fields to move WCASD forward, making it the school district that parents and students alike are proud to call their own. WCASD will not just be a place children learn, grow and develop, it will be a destination where families build their lives.

Relationships:

I have built 23 years of productive and meaningful relationships with the people and schools of WCASD, from the students and athletes, to the parents, teachers, and administrators of every level. I am entirely in tune and in touch with the people that I am here to serve.

Family:

I have been married to Cindy Gilbert-Bevilacqua for 23 years. Cindy is a former schoolteacher and high school coach and current national and international archery coach. My daughter Kristin graduated from Henderson in 2007 and is currently finishing her sophomore year at Bloomsburg University. My son Kurt is graduating from Rustin in 2009 and will attend Penn State or JMU in the fall.
