Cung Nguyen, AUSD School board member/parent
Janet Chew has the true heart of a volunteer. Her dedication and passion in serving the Arcadia school community has been consistently demonstrated in positions of leadership over the past 15 years. Her heart for service is equally matched by her keen mind, holistic grasp of issues and undeniable integrity. I am proud to serve with Mrs. Chew on the Arcadia School Board and whole heartedly ask for your support of this tremendously qualified candidate.

Aideen Honzay, Former Foothills Middle School Principal
After dedicating eight years to numerous volunteer PTA positions in Arcadia elementary and middle schools, Janet Chew served as PTA President at Foothills Middle School throughout the school year, 2000-2001. She gave unstintingly of her time in a highly organized, low-key fashion. Janet preferred to let others shine, but was always willing to ensure that students' and staff's needs were met, even if it meant she completed others' unfinished work herself. She was an excellent, thoughtful communicator. Parents and staff knew her as a compassionate, effective listener, and trusted her to look out for ALL students.

Mimi Hennessey, Former AUSD Superintendent
Janet Chew was exceptionally qualified for appointment to the Board of Education with extensive volunteer service and leadership, including PTA president at the middle school and high school levels. She has subsequently completed a Masters in Governance program for Board members and worked hard to learn the arcane requirements of public education finance and leadership. Her quiet understated manner may give her a low profile, but I found her to be an excellent board member; she did extensive preparation for difficult decisions and asked thoughtful and important questions.

Jim Barrows, City of Arcadia - City Clerk
Janet has been involved in school issues from the first day her child started school in Arcadia. Look at the numerous jobs she has held in PTA, the number of committees and the number of hours that she has spent as an advocate of our children. I also know that Janet does not seek the limelight and is much more comfortable being one of those "behind the scenes" helpers. She is great at this but whether Janet wants to believe it or not, she is a true leader. She leads us every day by example. There is no job too big or too small for Janet. When she gets a job you know that she will commit everything to it until it is done correctly.

Yena Bae, AHS Senior and Student Representative to the School Board
Working with Mrs. Chew for past year has shown me what it means to work with adults that care for my education, my comfort, and my future. Both in and out of the school board, her care for ALL students and children for Arcadia is evident and defiantly genuine. Her soft charisma and her hard working personality speak louder than words. From board policies, budget forms, school curriculum, I've witnessed her display of her intelligence and knowledge and commitment for this city and education for all children.

David Lee, Arcadia Chinese Association Past President/Community Volunteer/AEF Trustee
Two years ago, when Janet was appointed to be a school board member, I knew they had made the right choice. Since then, I have worked with her in my capacity as an AEF trustee. I realized that in the years since we worked at Arcadia High she has matured and grown into an even more capable person, an even more outstanding and experienced leader.
Karen Tom, Arcadia Parent
While serving under Janet Chew's vibrant leadership in the Arcadia High School PTSA, I was impressed with her knowledge, capability, and hands-on participation as PTSA President. I was able to see first hand her qualifications for leadership and her passionate dedication to youth and education
Terry Leahy, Arcadia Parent
Janet is the most gracious, thoughtful, poised person for this job. She listens, gets the facts and calmly makes decisions.
