St. Louis Board of Aldermen Alderwoman, 21st Ward Elected to serve the constituency of the 21st Ward of the City of St. Louis. Created legislation specifically directed toward the stabilization, improvement and empowerment of the 21st Ward. Created the foundation for the implementation of the Community Housing Initiative Program and Services (CHIPS). Implemented several pilot programs to improve the stability, empowerment and enrichment of the community and the individual including; Façade Program (forgivable dollars for exterior improvement of businesses), New Vision Child Development Center (a state of the art educational facility), Prince Hall Family Support Center (25 unit state departmental facility in North city), North Newstead Association (a Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) that has developed over 100 units of housing in the 21st Ward), Team Management Assistance Program (TMAP) a program designed to address the nuisance property and person issues, Dr. J's Wellness Program (a program to address the obesity and hypertension problems with our youth and adults). Created beautification and enhancement areas of the 21st Ward with the use of Capital Improvement funds and the African-American Heritage Festival held annually to celebrate and educate the African-American community of its history.
