Candidate for
Council Member; City of La Mirada

I believe it is the responsibility of government to be good stewards of public funds and the public trust. That means working with an on-time balanced budget that maintains an adaquate emergency reserve fund without charging residents city or utility taxes.

I believe that good government requires the dedication of ethical public servants who serve no special interests. Instead, Councilmembers must work well together to keep a united community and serve the interest of the entire community. Councilmembers must be prepared to lead by example, hold themselves to the highest standards as a role model for the youth in the community, and invest the time to attend community functions to show support and be available to residents.

I believe in an open, transparent government that engages people in service and volunteerism to help offset real costs. I believe in streamlining bureaucracy and promoting a team approach that develops good citizenship, community spirit and pride in all ages.

Public safety must be the top priority. City maintenance must be second balanced with programs and activities that support families and the well-being of all ages.

I believe good people who want good government, must be willing to a part of that good government.
