Recent events in our city and especially our State and Nation have made this a critical time for the future of San Gabriel. More than ever, leadership in San Gabriel requires new energy, vision, innovation, business acumen,  and the ability to listen to and unify the diverse voices in the community. As a local businessman and long-time San Gabriel resident, I believe that I have the skills to guide San Gabriel as it  faces these new times and challenges.     We need to revitalize and restore San Gabriel as a "City with a Mission". I am concerned that San Gabriel's stagnant business community and deteriorating streets and roads have caused it to fall behind other Valley communities in working to improve the quality of life for city residents.     Many friends and neighbors have expressed their concern regarding our community.  They often comment on how our city has deteriorated in so many ways. I am running for City Council because we desperately need to take our city in a new direction.
We have watched our City change from a leading community in the San Gabriel Valley to one now trailing behind in safety, progress and development.  The San Gabriel Comprehensive General Plan is well-done and has excellent ideas, but where is it? What are the plans for its implementation? We can no longer wait to take action.  The time is now to create opportunities to make our neighborhoods safe, to repair our streets and to restore the economic strength of our City.  I ask for your support to allow me to represent you on the City Council.  I commit to serving and addressing the needs of our families, seniors, youth, schools, and the business community of our City. I will do this by emphasizing and encouraging the partnership which must exist between the City Council and our residents. We need a City Council which is responsive to citizen's concerns, and this is best accomplished by a Council which is pro-active at LISTENING and EFFICIENT and TRANSPARENT in deeds. The future vitality and quality of life in San Gabriel will be shaped and defined by decisions that will be made in the next several years.
