Campaign Statement

By Harry L. Baldwin

Candidate for Council Member; City of San Gabriel

This information is provided by the candidate
The Recent National Election focused on two major issues: the economy and our infrastructure. They are tied together. Working on roads, water and sewer, railroads and bridges will provide jobs.

Public Safety remains my top priority. The City of San Gabriel is in a unique position to support and meet our Public Safety and Infrastructure needs.

Over the past years I have achieved results to obtain nearly $450 million allocated to lower the railroad tracks in San Gabriel. The funds have come from Federal, State and County governments.

The design plan to lower the railroad tracks has started. As Mayor of San Gabriel and a member of the construction authority for the project, I have already taken steps for an early appeal to Washington for the additional funds from the Federal Government to begin the actual work of lowering the tracks through San Gabriel.

This project will put into place major safety and transportation benefits for San Gabriel and provide significant employment in San Gabriel.
