This is my ballot statement:

As a member of the Alamo Town Council I will be an agent of minimal change. Alamo has a unique semi-rural character which I will strive to preserve. I believe that Alamo's commercial area is currently well-suited to serve the local community. Future residential growth needs to be measured. Additional development and lot splits must be carefully studied and new construction or remodels must reasonably conform to the existing ambience of their neighborhood.

I am a retired administrator from the University of California Lawrence Livermore Laboratory and my wife and I have been Alamo residents since 1989. I am a member of several Alamo committees: Alamo Parks and Recreation (Chair - 2006), Alamo Beautification, Hap Magee Ranch Park Joint Planning, and Alamo Improvement Association, Board of Directors.

I started http://www.alamore.org, a website that provides extensive information about the Alamo community. I'm proud to be a member of the Viet Nam Veterans of Diablo Valley.

As a fiscal conservative, I believe that the Alamo Town Council must demonstrate financial restraint with public funds from the start.

Please visit http://www.stevemick.org to learn more about me and my vision for Alamo.

I will be deeply honored to receive your support and trust.
