Hello. My name is Camille "Bud" George and I am a state representative proudly fighting for the people of the 74th Legislative District in northcentral Pennsylvania.

Except for time served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, I've made Clearfield County my home. I live in the same house I built with my father and brother and where I raised six children with my wife, Edna.

Working for the people who raised our families, fought our wars, built our schools and towns is a labor of love.

However, working families and retirees are confronting threats to their American Dream. Some people say such talk amounts to class warfare. The truth is class warfare has been waged on the Middle Class and senior citizens.

Household incomes have stagnated or dropped in recent years while poverty levels have increased. What further proof is needed that all the economic theories of recent years are total bunk?

The policies have been called Reaganomics, trickle-down, supply-side or free-market, but they share one thing -- they hurt working and retired Americans. The people who push these platforms believe that the way to feed the birds is to give the cattle more feed. It is a philosophy of greed.

I believe in just the opposite. When people have some jingle left in their pockets after paying the bills, then they can afford to buy appliances, homes and other items.

We don't need another tax cut for the well-to-do. We need fair tax policies -- especially on property taxes -- for workers and homeowners.

We don't need more gibberish on Republican vs. Democratic policies. We need government that works for the good of all the people.

It means little if one is Republican or Democrat and you have a sick parent or child with no means to obtain health care.

A strong America begins with a strong America. It is insulting to spend billions of dollars rebuilding other countries while ignoring the needs of our own citizens, communities and schools.

We are making progress on jobs. Clearfield County will be home to the state's first ethanol plant, a $270 million investment that will create hundreds of new jobs over the next several years. A similar plant is moving forward in Curwensville.

We have an electric plant envisioned near Karthaus that will be a mammoth job and energy creator while eliminating waste coal that has been polluting water supplies.

Our health-care system is leaving vulnerable citizens at risk, gouging businesses with high costs and strangling hospitals, doctors and nurses with unreasonable demands.

Citizens deserve more tax relief and their schools deserve fair education funding.

I'm Pro-Life and have again earned repeated endorsements and A+ ratings from the National Rifle Association.

Having been nominated previously as both a Democrat and a Republican, I've been called a "conservative Democrat."

I have always thought the GOP could transform the political landscape if it ever returned to the Teddy Roosevelt principles of fighting vested interests on behalf of most Americans with lean + not mean -- governance rather than special-interest-driven agendas.

Likewise, Democrats could own the mantle of America's Party if it stood for policies that provided a true rising tide rather than the trickle-down crumbs of compassionate conservatism.

I am not afraid to fight for the interests of Clearfield County. I fight for Republicans and Democrats in the 74th Legislative District with integrity and with every ounce of energy I possess.

It's important to have a strong, experienced voice representing your interests because no one should ever have to choose between heating or eating.

Your voice must be heard, and your interests represented, now more than ever. I humbly suggest you won't find anyone who will work harder at doing that than I.

Thank you.
