Legislative Reform

By Monica A. Douglas

Candidate for State Representative; District 39

This information is provided by the candidate
We must change the way that politicians do business in Harrisburg.
I support reducing the size of the state legislature in size and budget. Pennsylvania has the 2nd largest legislature in the nation and it is time to bring Pennsylvania in-line with the rest of nation. There can be real cost savings through a reduction of the state legislature.

I believe that state lawmakers should contribute to their own healthcare. Currently, state house members do not pay one penny for their healthcare.

Any surplus funds that remain in the Senate and House Leadership Accounts, should be returned back to the State Treasurey and back to the taxpayers.
