Monica was born and raised in the Mon Valley community of Elizabeth Township and is a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School. She is a graduate of Clarion University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and History. She attended Duquesne University for Graduate studies. Monica has worked in the non-profit, public and private sectors and has emerged as a leader in each field. During her tenure as Associate Director of the Northside Leadership Conference, Monica was honored by the Pittsburgh Public School's Start on Success program. This program provided mentoring opportunities between local employers and high school students at Oliver High School. In 2003, Monica was presented the Northside Leadership Conference Neighborhood and Business Award by Allegheny General Hospital. Currently, Monica is the Executive Director of the Republican Committee of Allegheny County. Civic Involvement In 2003, Monica was elected to the Elizabeth Borough Council and re-elected in 2007. She has served as President of Council since 2006. Monica also serves on the Board of Directors for the Twin Rivers Council of Governments and was recently elected Treasurer of the organization. She is a graduate of Leadership Development Initiative, Leadership On Board and Leadership Pittsburgh and the Local Government Academy Newly Elected Official Course. She also serves on the advisory board of the Anne Anstine Excellence in Public Service Series and is a former board member of the Community Technical Assistance Center. Monica is a member of Elizabeth Women's Club and the Elizabeth United Methodist Church. Monica is committed to bringing her experience and dedication to public service to the communities in the Mon Valley. She will serve the 39th Legislative District with the same integrity she is known for in her local community. |
