Better Support for Education: Education creates opportunity for our youth and offers promise for our future. Public education is a good investment for all of us. It is the great equalizer, the place that lets all children have the great start to a good life, a productive life. As a retired teacher, public education is my passion and I will be an advocate for public education in the State Legislature. A Higher Commitment to Affordable Healthcare: Improving healthcare affordability and availability are high priorities for me. In the short term, many Missourians are concerned about the unexpected, the catastrophic and prolonged health care needs that gives us pause. I will be your advocate for risk-sharing, long term and affordable health care solutions here in Missouri. More Green Space, a Cleaner Environment: Environmental challenges define our age: global warming, greenhouse gases, sustainability. How we react to the changes in our environment will define our legacy. I will be a strong advocate for the environment and government policy that reduces greenhouse gases and promotes sustainability for us and future generations. Smarter Support for a Growth Economy: Higher paying jobs are the result of a growth economy. Today, however, escalating costs for food and energy are hitting us hard every time we fill our gas tank or go to the grocery store. Our economy is stalling. I will advocate for short-term, tactical tax incentives to target shortages and help bring about a better balanced growth economy for all Missourians. Martha Ott, the Right Name for Change. |
