Shall St. Louis County, Missouri, issue general obligation bonds up to the amount of One Hundred Twenty Million Dollars for the purposes of constructing various capital improvements to County buildings and facilities, and making improvements to County safety/security and communication facilities? Yes No
The projects include replacement of the family courts building, the health facility and laboratory and police crime laboratory. Renovations will be made to the courts building and the animal shelter. The emergency siren system will be upgraded. The new and renovated facilities are proposed because the existing facilities were found to be inadequate to meet current service needs, do not meet seismic design criteria, contain hazardous materials such as asbestos and are energy inefficient. There will be no tax increase because the current bond retirement fund rate is adequate to fund the bond issue. However, that rate would be extended over a longer period of time.
