Goals For Our District

Candidate for Board Member; Conejo Valley Unified School District

I believe we can be a proactive district with program planning (magnets, home-based education, etc.). For too many years our district has been reactive.
I campaigned two years ago on the need to address opportunities like magnet schools (differentiation) and cost containment. My points then are even more pressing today.

PREVENT SCHOOL CLOSURES

  • Retain students and families
  • Support magnet and charter schools
  • Support programs to attract new students PURSUE EXCELLENCE IN EDUCATION
  • Support traditional math
  • Support home-based school programs
  • Support career studies SUPPORT PARENTS
  • Promote opt-in and parent notification
  • Support parents personally when the system breaks down
  • Improve overall communications with parents
  • Support community values and diversity PROMOTE FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Require competitive bid
  • Seek new income opportunities SUPPORT TAXPAYERS
  • Oppose higher taxes
  • Support tuition tax credits
