The Republican voted against every veterans appropriation bill since he arrived in Congress.
My opponent has failed our veterans. Time and time again he has voted against major legislation affecting them. On the single most important appropriation bill of our generation, the "New GI Bill" to increase funding for veterans' health care and afford them a four-year public university education + a new GI Bill for our times + Campbell cast a "no" vote, failing our veterans and undermining their trust. He rejected the bill on several occasions (since it came up several times in different versions) and the votes were not decided along party lines. Far from it. On his first chance to vote on the appropriation, at that time lacking the education component, the incumbent was one of 2 noes against 409 yeas. He rejected the full appropriation with the education part again this June, as one of 12 noes against 416 yeas. In between these two roll call votes there was another on the measure in which he just declined to vote. When veterans needed it the most, my opponent betrayed them.
