Mountain House is our home. Nobody will protect and nurture it if we don't.

By Martin Ngozi Kanu

Candidate for Board Member; Mountain House Community Services District

This information is provided by the candidate
I understand the need to work as a team to get things done right..
As a concerned member of the community, Martin is very interested in the future of Mountain House. He will work to strengthen the community's safety and economy. Martin would like to see economic growth to enhance the city, but preserve the community's integrity. Martin will work to establish a balance between neighborhoods and businesses, focusing on keeping developers from harmfully impacting the city and attracting businesses that will enhance the community. In addition to public safety and the integrity of the community, Martin is devoted to education. Because he works within the education system, Martin knows the importance of the good education. As a father and an educator, he will see that our children receive the best education possible within the city. Martin is strongly opposed spending tax dollars on questionable special interest projects or programs for expanding government bureaucracies. Martin is the captain for his Neighborhood Watch program in Mountain House (Avondale). He looks forward to continuing his work in the Neighborhood Watch program, because taking care of our neighborhoods means taking care of our children. It means taking care of our families.

Martin is a Network Specialist for San Mateo County Community College. He has taught computer networking at Caņada College in Redwood City and at Hayward Adult School. He also has worked as a realtor for the past 6 years.

Martin is originally from Eastern Nigeria, in West Africa. He moved to the United States to pursue his education and received a degree in computer science. Martin and his family moved to Mountain House from Hayward on the recommendations of close family friends. They hope to raise their children in a healthy and safe environment, and they are committed to living here for many years to come.

As a member of the California School Employees Association, Martin was appointed by the association's president to be the political action coordinator for northern California. Martin has talked to legislators at the Capitol and at their district offices on many issues, and is at ease advocating for the issues at hand. Martin is also a member of the newly formed Friends of the library and volunteers within the community whenever possible. He enjoys reading, wine collecting and loves playing and watching soccer games with his children.
