Born in Los Angeles, California to Lyman and Margaret Russell on October 11, 1944. I have one living sister, Jolene (Russell) Farrar, who lives in Caldwell, Idaho. I have been married twice once to Diane (Harris) Russell in 1968 and the second marriage was to Susan (Ybarra) Russell in 1985. Neither marriage produced children. I went to elementary school and Junior High School in Los Angeles and High School in Colorado. I returned to California and attended the University of Redlands and graduated with a BA in 1967 and a Master of Arts in Teaching in 1972. I received a Secondary Teaching Credential in 1968 and a Secondary Administrative Credential from National University in 1991. I was employed by the Colton Joint Unified School District in September 1968. I was assigned to Bloomington High School. I taught Social Studies (Geography, U.S. History, Civics and Problems of Democracy) Until February 1989. I also coached football (Freshman, J.V. and Varsity for 18 years), baseball (Freshman, J.V. and Varsity for 18 years) and soccer (Varsity for 1 year). In February 1989 I became Athletic Director, a job I held until June 2001. It was a part time job and I also taught 3 classes (Social Studies, some combination of U.S. History and Economics and A.P. Economics). During the time at Bloomington I performed the following extra curricular activities: Boy's Forum advisor, Freshman class advisor, Senior class advisor, and Social Studies Department Chairman. From 1963 to 1973 I lived in Redlands. From 1973 to 1985 I lived in Grand Terrace. From 1985 until the present I have lived in Bloomington. My current hobbies are golf and traveling. I am also a avid reader. I have 3 dogs, two parrots (Blue Front Amazons), two Llamas and 5 Emu's. I serve on the Board of directors for the Bloomington Preservation Foundation and Bloomington Incorporation Commission. I am also a member of San Gorgonio NEA/CTA Retired. |
