Biography

Since 1950, I have been a Hemet resident, completing my K-12 education in Hemet schools. After graduation from UC Berkeley, I was employed at Hemet Valley Medical Center in the clinical laboratory for 34 years, retiring at the end of 2004. Along with my husband Nick, and sons Jaeger and Hamilton, we own an manage our family business, Miller-Jones Mortuary and Crematory and Menifee Valley Memorial Park, where I now lead the public relations program. My husband, two sons, and daughter-in-law also graduated from HUSD schools. I am the proud grandmother of two beautiful and healthy grandchildren.

First elected in 1996, I have been honored to serve on the Hemet school board continually for three terms, currently as Board President.

Appreciating many wonderful opportunities throughout my life in Riverside County, I voluntarily participate in many activities that will lead this region to continue to be a wonderful place to live. I am proud to have served on the formation committee for the Hemet Hospice, the San Jacinto Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, to have been selected as the State of California Professional Woman of the year in 2006 for the 65 Assembly District, to work on the Committee for the 46th District Agricultural Association Farmers Fair to help foster awareness of the Southern California Wine Industry, serve on the Valley Wide Parks and Recreation Foundation annual fundraising committee.

I believe our region is what we who live here are willing to make it. Please support my continued service to our community by voting to re-elect Charlotte Jones to the Hemet Unified School District Governing Board on November 4th.
