I believe that my political philosophy can be wrapped up in one word: "transparency".

It is the essence of the Brown Act which requires public rather than private deliberation of issues by government agencies.

We should take that further, of course, to include more digital exposure of public documents on the internet. City budgets should be promulgated in a manner more understandable to those of us who are not Certified Public Accountants.

If we are to remain a "government by the people", we need to work harder to involve more of the citizenry in the workings of government through commissions, task forces, ad hoc committees, etc. We do a good job of this in Lake Elsinore and I would hope we could do even better.
