Vigorous, conscientious representation of voters, the public & communities interests... We the people....should have a larger voice in policy positions of government.Cut public relations budget. Stop monthly full-Page newspaper ads and junk mail. We should not spend taxpayer's money to say what a good job we are doing. We have wasted almost a million dollars in the past 8 years on a misguided program of "public education". Through Bill's vigorous efforts and others the hemmoraging finally stopped in this fiscal year's 2008-2009 budget. We succeeded. Vigorous, conscientious representation of voters, the public & communities interests (Not water companies). Now the water-bill paying, ratepayers are paying to clean up the water. This must stop, since voters are not liable for contamination. The water Industry is a big bureaucracy. A multi-tiered monopoly that is very weakly regulated by the Public Utilities Commission with very little public input and oversight. There is no good reason for such an industry to spend huge amounts of ratepayers and taxpayers money on self serving Public Relations projects. Bill promises continued strong efforts to curb the wasting of tax dollars on extraneous projects and instead trying to focus expenditures on addressing the real water issues. Not acting as a puppet for rubber stamp schemes and screwy policies that benefit the large water interests to the detriment of water bill paying homeowners and consumers of water... the under represented end user that end up paying all the bill or public waste and subsidy projects for the greedy, but politically connected interests. |
