Vote to re-elect Roy and continue the positive progress and turn-around of the Pinole City Council.I am running for re-election to the office of Councilmember of the City of Pinole. I have been serving as your newly elected councilmember since February 2008 and would like to continue to be part of an extremely aggressive and productive Council that has come together to solve many of the current issues facing our community. I would like to give a great deal of credit to my colleagues on the City Council for their hard work, honesty, and integrity in serving our community. For the first time in many years the Pinole City Council has a unified philosophy to move forward together and give Pinole a better quality of life. Since I was elected, the Pinole Council has adopted their first 3 year budget plan and for the first time in 6 years Pinole will be operating with a balanced budget. We have incorporated an annual audit of RDA loans to prevent the loan delinquency problems we have had in the past. We are also investigating all contracts currently in force with outside contractors, and renegotiating several of them to better benefit our City. The new City Council has organized several volunteer citizen commissions to address community needs and issues. The Council has made significant progress in solving many of the City wide issues and problems that faced us when we took office eight months ago and is unified in their commitment to continue to serve our community. About me: I am married and have 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I have operated a construction business for over 30 years and have a background in administration and finance. I have always been active in community service organizations beginning with the Pinole Jaycees in 1964, the Pinole Rotary Club, Pinole Chamber of Commerce, WCC Police Activities League, and the University Of California Marching Band Board Of Directors. I have served as president of all of the above service groups. I am a member of the Pinole Historical Society and the Pinole High School PTA I am a former member of the Pinole City Council serving from 1986 through 1990 and served as Pinole Mayor in 1989. I also served as chairman of the Contra Costa Mayors Conference in 1989-90. I am semi-retired and do construction expert analysis work for my own consulting company. I have the time and energy to serve our community. I am looking forward to continuing to serve you on the Pinole City Council. Thank you for your support and vote. |
