Ballot Statement from Election Materials

By Pat Anderson

Candidate for Council Member; City of Oakley

This information is provided by the candidate
I have the honor of serving on Oakley City Council since the beginning of cityhood. I was our first Mayor and Mayor again in 2005. I seek your support for a third term. My acquired knowledge, solid understanding of municipal government operations and collaborative leadership style are assets making me a highly qualified candidate. The decision making process that balances the needs of the community with the desires of citizens is often a complex and difficult exercise that I take seriously. I study all issues thoroughly, consider all input, and share thoughts respectfully so that my decisions and my process in developing them are transparent.

Economic development is a challenge of vital importance for Oakley. We must bring our sales tax dollars home so that funding for city services, personnel, maintenance and improvements is more than just adequate. How we maintain high quality of life and our unique identity in the balancing act of large and small business development will take strong and decisive leadership and I bring that to our council. I want to continue to provide my guidance and insight as we build our community together.

I appreciate your vote.
