No New Taxes

William Scibelli, a candidate for the 2nd Hampden District State Representative seat currently held by Mary Rogeness, took sharp issue with the recent remarks of Gov. Deval Patrick when he stated that "new taxes are a distinct possibility." Scibelli called the remarks a callous disregard for the pain and suffering felt by most Massachusetts residents caused by the fiscal irresponsibility of our Legislature and Governor. The Governor has been described as "never having met a Bond Bill that he doesn't like." Spending seems to be the order of the day in Boston without any regard for how the bills will be paid. The Democratic controlled legislature seems content to rubber-stamp any spending bill that comes its way. Scibelli has asked that our local legislators join with him in putting a halt to this run-away spending.

Scibelli has announced a 5-Point Plan that includes NO NEW TAXES. No mandates to Cities and Towns without appropriating the necessary funds to finance them and over-all fiscal responsibility. Scibelli has asked all voters in the 2nd Hampden District to support him in his efforts to restore fiscal responsibility to State Government. As he goes about meeting the people of this district, the issue they are most concerned with is the reckless disregard by government for using the taxpayer's funds. He said the people he talks with want a better standard of life with less taxation.
