Ultimate power in government is with the peopleOur government at all levels is extremely corrupt. They have retreated into the protection of a powerful elite and go to any length to protect themselves. As a result they answer only to the rich and powerful who have agreed to keep them in their lucrative positions as long as they go along with the program. As scary as this sounds there is a solution. The one thing politicans fear is the will of the people. They know that, so far, you still hold their fate in your hands. The solution I am offering is to put one of our own on the city council to expose the corruption by opening the doors of city hall to the people of San Diego. I am that man. I have no political resume, no arms-length endorsement list, just a passion to set things right in government again and to do it by giving the people their voice back. All the problems the city has can be solved by the citizens being made aware of them and keeping the good and the will of the people foremost. I will give you your government back through a powerful, interactive web site. I will notify you of all the goings on at city hall and you can vote yeah or nay on each issue. I will receive your emails and commit staff to responding. I will ask your opinion on issues affecting the city and take your responses before the city council. I have a dream today. My dream is that one day I will sit on the city council and when the strong mayor form of government comes up for review in 2009, I will be able to look Donna Frye in the eye, and Kevin Faulkner, and Ben Hueso, and Tony Young and say, 30,000 voters from your districts came to my website to plead with you not to make the strong mayor form of government permanent. That will be the day San Diego has begun to take back their city government. With your vote, that day can come as soon as June 4, 2008. |
