Patty O'Day was raised in Milwaukee, WI. She grew up in a large family of 6 girls and 3 boys. In 1973, at the age of 20, she enlisted in the United States Air Force, eventually serving for just over 8 1/2 years.

After leaving the Air Force, Patty went back to college on the G.I. Bill to obtain her degree in Accounting. She obtained an Associates Degree from Victor Valley College and then went on to graduate from CA State University, Long Beach with a degree in Accounting.

For the last 20 years, Patty has worked for a real estate investment/property management firm in the Bay Area. She is the Controller/Chief Financial Officer.

Patty became involved in politics after watching the 2000 election fiasco in Florida. Her first steps were to volunteer as a poll worker for two elections. After September 11, 2001, Patty became one of the Founding Members of the Lafayette Flag Brigade. These are the people that stand on the overpass in Lafayette every September 11 to honor our fallen citizens by proudly waving the United States Flag.

She worked as a volunteer for the Join Arnold Campaign to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger as Governor after the recall. In 2004 Patty was the Contra Costa Phone Bank Chairman and the Veterans for Bush Coalition Chairman for the Bush/Cheney campaign.

In 2005 Patty was appointed to the Contra Costa Republican Party Central Committee and was soon selected to be the Voter Registration Chairman. In this capacity, she was also responsible for coordinating the successful petition drive to get the Governor's initiatives on the ballot for the special election. Patty devoted countless hours to the Contra Costa Republican Party and in 2006 was recognized for her efforts by being one of the two people named `2006 Volunteer of the Year'.

Since that time she has continued to work tirelessly for the Contra Costa Republican Party in every election cycle. In 2007 she was appointed to be the Chairman, Congressional District 10, for the Rudy Giuliani for President Campaign. She is currently serving as the Volunteer Chairman, and is a member of the Contra Costa Republican Party Executive Committee.

Patty is a Member of the Blackhawk Republican Women, and an Associate Member of the Ygnacio Valley Republican Women and the San Ramon Republican Women. She is a member of the California Republican Assembly (CRA). She also serves as the Membership Chairman of the California Women's Leadership Assn.
