This information is provided by the candidate

Over the past 12 years I have been extensively involved with many Democratic Party organizations, clubs and campaigns in Contra Costa County and in the Bay Area and I have served as an alternate on the Contra Costa Democratic Central Committee. I am an Elected Pledged Delegate to Senator Obama to the 2008 Democratic National Convention and am currently serving as an elected 14th AD Delegate to the Democratic State Central Committee.

Throughout the 2004 presidential campaign, I provided a booth with voter registration, informational materials, and merchandise at various events, including the SF Mime Troupe performances in Palo Alto, San Francisco, and the East Bay.

I have always been opposed to the Iraq War. I have worked for over a year with the Crosses of Lafayette, hold a weekly anti-war vigil in downtown Lafayette, and have been involved with many of the anti-war protests and vigils throughout the Bay Area. On August 17, 2005 directly following an SF Mime Troupe performance in Walnut Creek, I hosted the Moveon.org Peace Vigil.

In the past two years, as a member of the national organization, Democracy for America founded by Governor Howard Dean, I have hosted the DFA National Training Academy in Stockton and co-hosted the East Bay Training Academy in Berkeley which included CNN Democratic strategist, Jamal Simmons, as one of our instructors.

One thing I have learned through these years is that Contra Costa has an incredible wealth of talented and smart Democrats. The second thing I've learned is that many of these Democrats are not given the support they need from the party. We must organize within Contra Costa and the first step is to revitalize and rebuild the Democratic County Central Committee. The most effective way to make this happen is to rebuild the Democratic County Central Committee to fulfill its job in organizing, funding local candidates and grassroots activities, and supporting and building the party. d to the Iraq War. I am running for a seat on the Central Committee because I envision a strong county organization here and would like to represent you and work side by side with you in reaching this goal.
