Greg Conlon for Congress

Government Experience Greg Conlon gained hands-on experience serving two of California's most critical agencies. Governor Pete Wilson appointed Greg to both the California Public Utilities Commission, where he served for two years as president and four years as Commissioner, and to the California Transportation Commission, where he served for three years as Commissioner.

Real World Experience / Business / Private Sector CPA & Senior Partner, Big 5 Accounting Firm Greg has over three decades in Accounting and Business Finance auditing and consulting with Fortune 500 corporations, including recommendations for improved procedures and controls over accounting and financial matters.

For the last three years, Greg has worked to start a new national accounting firm. He is still pursuing this goal.

Military Service Captain and pilot, U.S. Air Force, including three years active duty and six years inactive duty.

Public Sector Commissioner and President, California Public Utilities Commission (PUC) This CPUC experience included involvement in restructuring the electric industry and opening the local telecommunications market to competition within the State as well as reviewing and approving rate case filings for electric, natural gas, telecommunications and water companies.

Commissioner, California Transportation Commission This experience included approval of several billion dollars of new public transportation projects and the earthquake retrofitting projects of major California bridges and overpasses.

Nonprofit Sector Board Member & Treasurer, Self-Help for the Elderly Agency provided social and health services to over 25,000 senior citizens in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Board Member, Pineview Housing Project Over a five-year period, Pineview was able to build a low-cost, 70-unit housing project for seniors on top of the Broadway tunnel in San Francisco, named Lady Shaw Senior Center.

Attorney Recently became licensed in Washington, DC, which allows Greg to be admitted to several Federal and Washington, DC courts: District of Columbia Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court in Washington, DC, U.S. Court of Appeals in 9th Circuit in San Francisco, and the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, DC.
