Peter Williamson came to Media in 1989, with his wife Adeline Ciannella, when he took a job with Natural Lands Trust, a land conservancy active throughout eastern Pennsylvania. Adeline is the Director of Haverford Township Free Library. Married for 23 years, they have three children--Rachel, 21, Sophia 18, and Aidan, 15. Since moving here the family has lived in a rented row home on E. Front, a twin on W. Fourth, and now a single home at the corner of Edgmont and Lincoln. In his current title as Vice President of Conservation Services at Natural Lands Trust, Peter manages a department of sixteen professionals who acquire open space and conservation easements, and work with municipalities, counties and state agencies on conservation initiatives. In his fifteen years of public service in Media he has served on the Planning Commission, been the Tree Warden, helped start the "Media Pride" volunteer group which worked on litter and trash issues, and since last year, serves on Borough Council as the Community Development Chair with responsibility for planning and zoning issues. He also helped design the plantings for Borough Hall, the SEPTA Trolley Station, State Street and Trader Joe's. |
