Honoring the past, preparing for the futureBy Alfred F. "Al" MeyerCandidate for Council Member; Borough of Rose Valley | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Rose Valley has a rich history and a character that distinguishes it from other communities. We need to honor this history and preserve the best of the Borough for future generations. The rich history of Rose Valley has shaped this wonderful borough. We are distinct from many of the communities in suburban Philadelphia and need to preserve and protect our heritage. I feel a strong sense of duty to see that, within the applicable legal and fiscal constraints that guide us, we should work to protect the character and unique features that we have inherited. The open space initiative, environmental regulations, and PRD-overlay (e.g. Traymore) are examples of the initiatives with which I have been associated in the Borough. I have served the Borough both as a member of the Planning Commission and as Controller. I was appointed to fill the remainder of the term for a vacated seat on the Borough Council. I have used my experience as Controller and member of the Planning Commission to inform my work on Council. If elected, I will continue to work constructively with my colleagues on Council to the end that Rose Valley may continue to be a community that both honors its history and is prepared for the future. |
