1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)
Father of 4 children in the district, ranging in both age (elementary to High School) and abilities (Honors classes to Special Needs)Current Chair of district Fiance Committe
Member of Facilities Committee
2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)
I plan to hold the adminstration accountable for meeting the goals of AYP. This will ensure that we providing adequate education to ALL of our children and will also improve the status of the "label" that is placed on this district as a result of state test scores. Additionally, I will ensure fiscal respnsibility in the passage of any new levies related to the proposed new middle/high schools, as well as any potential future operating levies3. What is your position on amending the Ohio Constitution with regard to the funding of public schools? (150 word limit)?
We absolutely, positively, MUST change the way we fund our schools in Ohio. Not only has it been ruled unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court, but more importantly it leads to a cycle of non productive work on the local front. We get into the cycle of local school levies every 4-5 years and if they don't pass, then we get into the "cut bussing, pay for sports" etc". This simply MUST change.
