Questions & Answers

1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)

I have two daughters in the Oak Hills school system. Bachelor of Science from the University of Cincinnati in the areas of business and political science. I have experience in finance, budget forecasting and communications. I am a Senior Account Executive for Alchemy Broadcasting.

2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)

I will move the first two priorities immediately on taking office at my first board meeting. Residents must understand they no longer have a vote or control over Oak Hills school spending. I want every resident to know their property taxes are going up without their approval.

3. What is your position on amending the Ohio Constitution with regard to the funding of public schools? (150 word limit)?

I opposed the constitutional amendment proposed earlier this year. It amounted to giving the public schools a blank check- signed by the taxpayer. The special interests want unquestioned, unlimited funding, but it is critical that there be accountability by every school board. while the current system places too much reliance on property taxes any solution must not eliminate the voters. I am willing to consider any alternative funding that would reduce property taxes as the major support of education.
