1. What are your qualifications for office? (50 word limit)
|
Answer from Greg Altenau:
1. Financial background
2. Interest in the community's future.
Answer from Michael J. Hellebusch:
I am a new candidate with a fresh perspective to bring to the School Board. I have over 20 years in business and am considered a strong negotiator and leader, but I am not a career politician. I believe in fiscal responsibility and accountability to the Community.
2. What plans do you have to address your top three priorities? (100 word limit)
|
Answer from Greg Altenau:
1. Assess the current situation
2. Make changes to meet goals in top priorities
Answer from Michael J. Hellebusch:
1)The district has improved on their "State Report Card". I plan to work with the School Board to continue striving for an "Excellent" Rating for all Three Rivers Schools in a fiscally responsible manner.
2)Listen and work with our Community to re-connect the Community and the School District in a positive way.
3)The Three Rivers School Buildings are all over 40 years old with significant building needs. My goal is to work toward an amicable long term solution benefitting all members of the Three Rivers Community.
3. What is your position on amending the Ohio Constitution with regard to the funding of public schools? (150 word limit)?
|
Answer from Michael J. Hellebusch:
There is an obvious disconnect with the Ohio Legislature and the Schools of Ohio as school funding has been found unconstitional by the Ohio Supreme Court and yet goes unaddressed. I am very dissatisfied with status quo and that the districts are left with no alternative but to go to the Community for funding through tax/bond levies. I would love to see a quality amendment to address this issue for the entire state that we can all get behind and support.
Answer from Greg Altenau:
No position
