Not just Mayors and The Supervisor but the full Councils and Trustees can meet and address mutual problems and long term goals.I think The Town really needs a Teen Center or at least a safe, fun place for them to gather and "relax" for a few hours each week. This could, I feel, be a prime target for a Town/Village co-operative effort, much like the exciting developments currently underway in Flint Park which, in addition to providing much needed, expanded, and more useable field space, will enhance our residents access to The Sound and provide even more multi-generational recreational opportunities for all our citizens. Inter-Municipal cooperation should be more than the two Village Mayors sitting down with The Town Supervisor periodically to address a crisis. We should figure out ways for the respective boards to get together, with the public, to discuss issues and solutions that make sense for all of us. Topics could include expansion of The Town Fire District to include The Village of Larchmont, acquisition jointly of more recreational space to benefit all our citizens and a Revaluation plan that is well thought out and fair to all concerned which can be implemented within our lifetime. |
