I believe that a successful City Clerk must have knowledge of California open meeting laws, the Brown Act and conflict of interest laws, public meeting noticing requirements and election law and procedures. My experience as a Planning Commissioner, Personnel Appeals Board member and years of service on various other Boards and Commissions has provided me with knowledge and hands-on experience in these areas to perform very well as your City Clerk. I have a proven track record of performance and accomplishment with a strong history of working collaboratively with City Council, staff and members of the community. My professional experience as a Law Office Manager has provided me with many years of experience in records management, procedures regarding record retention, budget management, information systems and strong customer service skills. Because I feel it is so important to do the job well and keep current, I have taken the City Clerks training course given by the City Clerks Association of California and have recently joined the International Institute of Municipal Clerks. |
