I'm a UC Berkeley graduate, optometrist, and local business owner of LOOK! Optometry, Metlox Plaza of downtown Manhattan Beach, a homeowner and a seven year resident of Manhattan Beach. My wife, Angela, and I have two children, a 2nd grader at Grand View Elementary School and a 6th grader at MBMS. I have been the Grand View Elementary School Liaison to our School Board, in which I developed simple ways to maximize communications. For the past two years I have been actively attending almost every School Board meeting. Within my responsibility I created a regular email to the parents of my school about the goings on of the School Board. Parents have thanked me a lot for this work. As a result, Grand View parents are informed more fully about our School District's many undertakings and issues. As City Commissioner on the Parking and Public Improvements Commission (PPIC), I currently serve our larger community. When I joined Leadership Manhattan Beach, graduate 2005, I was instrumental in bringing increased LMB community visibility and fund raising. I was glad I could open my home for a fund- raiser event by LMB for a projector for the library, setting a new beach mark. I work for the Legislative committee of the Chamber of Commerce, giving direction on political issues affecting our south bay businesses. As campaign advisor for Portia Cohen I devised and oversaw campaign strategy. I'm a member of Manhattan Beach Rotary and I'm on the Executive Board of the Downtown Business Association. |
