As a govening board member, I pledge to be responsive to the need to re-think, establish and maintain a long term vision and organizational structure that demonstrates progress toward educational goals and provide ample support that empowers students, professional staff and parents to keep learning and achievement for all students as the primary focus.I have lived in the city of Lynwood for thirty-three years. I was a teacher assistant in the Los Angeles School District for four years and a teacher's aide, teacher intern, classroom teacher, project resource teacher and a Teacher on Special Assignment in Federal and State Programs and Student Support Services in the Lynwood Unified School District for a combined total of thirty-two years. Thirty-six years of experience as a public school educator has allowed me to acquire extensive knowledge and insight into the proper workings and needs of effective school districts. My experience encompasses, but is not limited to, curriculum development, assessment, evaluation, budget, program quality review, grant writing, management of special programs and providing support to beginning teachers. I am a strong supporter and advocate for children and public education. I believe in an educational vision that ensures and enforces equity as it relates to providing the best quality of instructional practices for all students. The whole child must be educated and learning needs must be the center of every educational program and resource decision. Learning environments must be safe and conditions must enable all children to develop and realize their fullest potential. Today's children must be educated in such a way, more than ever before, as to enable them to function and particpate intelligently in the political, social and economic progress of our country. As a governing board member, I pledge to be responsive to the need to re-think, establish and maintain a long term vision and organizational structure that demonstrates progress toward educational goals. I will provide ample support that empowers students, professional staff and parents to keep learning and achievement for all students as the primary focus. I am a candidate who believes in honesty, integrity and equality. I will uphold the office of board member with dignity, respect for all and knowledge of my duties. |
