Responsible, Ethical Government

By Tom Scola

Candidate for Commissioner; Township of Haverford; Ward 1; Republican Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Insure that Haverford Township Government is responsible.
A priority will be insisting that systems are put in place to insure accountability of the Township Commissioners and public officials and that the township runs in a business like, fiscally responsible manner keeping the needs of the citizens at the forefront.

All Commissioners and public officials should receive ethics training, training on the Sunshine Act, and written guidelines for the reimbursement of expenses.

Term limits should be enacted to eliminate long standing political patronage jobs and insure that fresh ideas are brought to the table.

Public Officials should have written contracts outlining the duties and responsibilities of their positions and they should be held accountable for their performance. Public Officials should not be appointed at the whim of the commissioners.

I personally will avoid political alliances that are detrimental to the residents. I will make independent decisions based on the facts, the needs of the residents, and my own conscience.
