A Businessman, Not a Politician

By Oscar Mendoza

Candidate for Council Member; City of Los Angeles; District 7

This information is provided by the candidate
Oscar helped grow his family business into a succesful regional construction firm. He knows how to meet a payroll, balance the books and get things done on time and on budget. He serves on the board of The Economic Alliance of The San Fernando Valley, helping to create jobs and economic opportunity.

Born in Mexico, Oscar's family moved to the San Fernando Valley when he was less than a year old and his parents stressed commitment to the community. Now, Oscar is raising his own family here, building a business and working every day for a better quality of life.

As a leader of Valley VOTE, Oscar knew we needed to leave a distant and unresponsive city government-and instead, create a new, smaller government focused on improving our community, our schools and creating economic development.

We narrowly lost that battle, but Oscar was a proven vote getter in the race for Valley City Council, receiving over 51% of votes tallied. Now, Oscar is more convinced than ever that we have to work together to send representatives to City Hall who are truly commited to our interests.

It is time to elect a leader who is finally going to stand up for our families in City Hall. If the politicians could get the job done-we wouldn't be in the mess we are in right now. That is why we need to elect one of our own.

On March 6, Vote Oscar Mendoza for Los Angeles City Council.
