Steve was born and raised in Anderson Township, the son of Betty and Gene Silver. He attended Maddux Elementary and Anderson Middle and Senior High Schools. While in school, Steve played on the school's basketball and baseball teams and was the Junior and Senior Class President. Additionally, he was a member of the National Honor Society. Steve also graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While in school, he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. Steve's first love though, was flying. He received his private pilot's license at the age of 16 and by 18 was a commercial pilot and certified flight instructor. He worked his way through college by flying as a pilot for many companies in the tri-state area. After graduation, Steve was hired by the Procter and Gamble Company as a pilot. During his 14 year career there, he flew the top executives of the company to destinations all around the world. Today Steve is a pilot for Delta Air Lines, based here in Cincinnati. He also serves as the Cincinnati Pilot Scheduling Chairman. Besides flying, Steve has also worked for the United States Justice Department-Torts division as an expert witness in aviation related cases. Steve has been married for 21 years to his wife Kim. They have two children; a son who attends The Ohio State University and a daughter who is a student at Turpin High School. Steve has been very committed to serving in his community. From serving as President of the Turpin Hills Swim and Racquet Club to Senior Warden at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, Steve has been a leader. He has led youth retreats to Isreal and beyond at his church and currently volunteers in the Greater Anderson Promotes Peace (GAPP) program. You might also catch Steve on one of the area's local golf courses where he indulges one of his passions. |
