1. The American occupation in Iraq continues to be enormously costly in dollars and in lives. What is your position on how our government should proceed?
I strongly support our troops. My hope is that we move in a new direction-ensuring that 2006 is a year of transition with Iraqis assuming responsibility for their country and with the responsible redeployment of U.S. forces.2. What is your impression of the roll-out of the Medicare Prescription Drug program so far, and what changes would you propose to make it better?
The confusion and complexity surrounding the Bush prescription drug program highlights how the law falls short in providing seniors and people with disabilities access to affordable prescription drugs. I support the proposal that make key improvements to the program so that beneficiaries get the simple, affordable, and reliable prescription drug benefit they deserve.3. Where do you stand on the current balance between security and civil rights?
I want terrorist who kill Americans tried, convicted and punished. The current Administration has had several years to devise a system for trying terrorists that would meet Supreme Court standards, unfortunately they have failed. The question is not whether we should protect the American people, but what way is the best way to protect the American people in such a way that our civil liberties are not threatened.
