"Bio of Edward C. Noonan" Candidate for Governor Contact: Edward C. Noonan Born: Prescott, AZ - 9/25/48 Birthmother: Martha Helen Wright (dec'd) Birthfather: Claude Elza Davis (dec'd) Noonan moved to California in 1948 at the age of two weeks old. He lived with his birth mother until 4 years of age. In Oroville he was adopted (with a sister) by Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Noonan. The Noonan family moved to Chico then Sacramento. He left the Noonan couple at the age of 13. He was placed in several foster homes. Mr. Noonan spent most of his life in Sacramento. Except for a brief period when he attended Santa Barbara City College or was on a Full Time Mission in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Western States Mission), or for the four years in the U.S. Army (E5) he lived in the Greater Sacramento area. During the last part of his four years in the U.S. Army he was a Newspaper Editor for one of the base newspapers. He was also trained as a harbor craft operator but transfered into the information MOS. After the Army he attended Sacramento City College, American River College and Sacramento State College. He did not graduate but quit to work at a print shop that he owned. After he sold his print shop he started an advertising business. He also was a "private vendor" as a special investigator working along side of the State of California, Division of Unclaimed Property. He also worked for seven years as a Sales Manager for Periodical Publishers Service Bureau. For three years he was a publisher for CLAIMS REFERRAL DIRECTORY and also sold advertising for this insurance referral directory of his. In 1995 he and his son opened up a computer shop in Yuba City. Later in 1995 they became one of the pioneering Internet companies in the Yuba County area. They moved their shop back into the Yuba County in 1999 where the shop has been situtated in Linda ever since. Mr. Noonan was active in the Yuba County Republican Party beginning in 1996. He was appointed to be a committee member and later was one of the first Republican committee members to actually appear on the county ballot. He was elected the Chairman of the Yuba County Republican Party in 1998. However, he believed the Republican Party was becoming too moderate. He jumped ship in 1999, and joined the American Independent Party which is an affiliate of the Constitution Party. Mr. Noonan ran for Secretary of State in 2004. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He is active in his Ward in Marysville. He is the Ward Mission Leader, and also the Ward Family History Consultant. Mr. Noonan is married to Patricia (Hansen) Noonan, and has a son, Jack and another son, Justin Noonan who is running for Treasurer (State of California). |
