My name is Brian Klea. I will be asking for your vote as the candidate for State Senator, District 38. Before I do though, a fair question would be "Who is this guy and why should I vote for him?" Well, I'm a lifelong resident of California, I received my Bachelor's degree in Biology at Cal State University Northridge and most recently, a Master's degree in Business Administration at Cal State University San Marcos. In recent years, I've been more and more disappointed with the ineffectiveness and paralysis of both Democratic and Republican leadership in California. Why can't we get things done in this state? I believe we've seen corruption and shady dealings on both sides of the aisle; enough to make voters disgusted with both major parties. If there was ever a time to vote your conscience and choose a "third party" candidate, isn't it now?

I've decided to run as a Liberterian. What this means is, I bring fiscal conservatism, social liberalism and common sense. I am not accepting campaign contributions from any Political Action Committee and I will not be responsible to any special interests groups if elected.

I've been asked what I believe are the three most important issues facing Californians in this election:

Number 1: Illegal immigration. Many Republicans want cheap labor, while many Democrats want new voters. I want what is best for California. This means enforcing our existing immigration laws and securing our borders. There should be absolutely no amnesty for people who have shown flagrant disregard for our nation of law and order.

Number 2. Improving Public Schools: The deplorable academic and physical condition of our public schools belies the amount of money spent on education by the taxpayers of California. Where is all of this money going? No child should be forced into a failing public school. I believe that vouchers create healthy competition in the school system and will provide more educational value for our children and to taxpayers.

Number 3: Traffic abatement: Some lawmakers want to pass laws to encourage carmakers to produce vehicles that get better fuel economy. What's the point of such legislation when in San Diego we have thousands of cars getting ZERO miles per gallon going nowhere while they idle in mind numbing traffic on San Diego's freeways. It's time to invest in our roadway infrastructure instead of pet projects costing millions that are seldom used by taxpayers.

Bottom line is: I'm not a politician, just a lifelong resident of "The Golden State" who wants to help keep it Golden. I can't do it without your vote. Please go to the polls on November 2 and vote for Brian Klea for State Senate. Thank you for considering me as your next Senator for California District 38!
