By Jeff Ketelson

Candidate for United States Representative; District 10

This information is provided by the candidate
This is a Document Mr. Ketelson Authored to garner support for our American Servicemen which was signed by 65 Political Leaders from accross the United States.
Contract with America's Heroes

As Republican nominees for the House of Representatives and as citizens seeking to join that body, we believe it is our patriotic duty to give full honor and respect to the men and women of America's armed forces.

In this world our freedom is not granted to us, it is earned by the selfless acts and sacrifice of the heroic men and women in our military. We firmly resolve to supply our troops with whatever is necessary to conduct the war on terrorism and continue to protect our freedoms.

We shall confirm to all watching: our children, our neighbors, and also our enemies, that honor, dignity, devotion to duty, and loyalty by our men and women in uniform is supported by every American Citizen, that no serviceman dies alone, and his memory not only lives on in the community but there are a million more ready, willing, and able to take his place.

We declare that on May 1st, 2004, Loyalty Day, we shall put into action the 7 terms laid out in this contract.

As true American Patriots, we feel that it is our duty to act now, before we are elected to office, to make good on our promise to support the heroes of the American Armed Forces.

1. With the establishment of "The American Heroes Memorial Park Fund", we firmly resolve that no American soldier that gives his life in defense of America will ever be forgotten.

2. With the establishment of "The March for Heroes Fund", we firmly resolve to continue to honor our troops as freedom fighters for America, and the world.

3. With the establishment of "The Wounded Heroes Employment Training and Placement Fund", we firmly resolve that veterans who are disabled in the fight for our freedoms will not be discarded or denied access to quality healthcare, education, and permanent employment.

4. With the establishment of "The Fallen Heroes Spouses' and Children's Scholarship Fund", we firmly resolve that the immediate families of our fallen heroes will receive the highest honor of a trifolded American flag and a guarantee for shelter, healthcare, and a higher education.

5. With the establishment of "The American Heroes Wartime Mortgage Assistance Program Fund", we firmly resolve that no active duty serviceman shall lose his home due to the differential in his civilian and military pay when called into service.

6. With the establishment of "The P.O.W. Protection Fund", we firmly resolve that no prisoner of war will be left behind and that no enemy will go unpunished for the mistreatment of American POW's.

7. With the establishment of "The Retired American Heroes Multi-Services Home Fund", we firmly resolve to create multi-service veterans homes to help veterans in need. We believe that no veteran should have to sleep on the ground.

We, as soon to be members of the 109th Congress, firmly resolve to support our American soldiers by any means necessary through times of peace and times of war.

We will honor our troops as the heroes they are, and let the world know that no sacrifice made for America will ever be in vain.

We will never pay tribute to, appease, or surrender to any enemy terrorist while any American soldier is under fire, nor will we ever leave any man behind.

We hereby pledge our loyalty to the men and women of the American Armed Forces. Semper Fi! (Always Faithful).

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand this first day of May, in the year of our Lord two thousand four, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and twenty-eighth.
