"Dr. Don" Etkes Ph.D. is running for California Governor as a certified write-in candidate

Dr. Don Etkes, Ph.D., has implemented a political platform designed to increase the quality of life for California's families. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, he has directly seen the terrible emotional and financial costs of broken families. His proposals are intended to save much of the enormous amounts of money that broken dysfunctional families cost the state in terms of lost wages, mental health services, physical illness and trauma.

Campaign issues:

To lower the high divorce rate, he advocates the creation of a law mandating six hours of prenuptial education before a marriage license will be granted. Some of the areas covered by this couple workshop: discovering any unrealistic expectations, enhancing communication skills, stress management, and dealing with money issues. A reflection period of one month after finishing the class will be required before a wedding ceremony can occur.

He wants the creation of more educational programs to help reduce child abuse and neglect. Mandatory classes can be created at all high schools covering the basics of parenting and methods for reducing the stresses that can lead to family tragedies. Dr. Don is founder of Adult Children of Abuse and Neglect.

Dr. Don is an advocate for California fully acknowledging that gays and lesbians are part of the state's family structure by recognizing their human right to legally marry. He feels that the only real objection to that freedom has been based on religious teachings. Etkes wants the state to stop allowing religion to dictate morality.

Dr. Don Etkes is running for California governor to lower the high divorce rate, reduce child abuse and neglect and legalize gay marriage. He wants to help heal the dysfunctional family that California politics has become.

About Dr. Don:

Donald Etkes, author of "Loving With Passion", holds a Ph.D. in psychology and is a licensed marriage and family therapist in private practice for over eighteen years. He has a credential as a community college instructor in psychology. His office is located in Los Angeles, California.

Etkes is a member of the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.

Also known as "Dr Don", he is a nationally recognized expert and professional speaker. He has appeared across the world on both television and radio. He has been written about everywhere from TV Guide (for his past weekly TV show on TLC) to the Washington Post.
