San Luis Obispo County needs to open a facility to serve our substance dependent population and facilitate recovery.Substance and alcohol abuse are very serious problems in this county. If your family is not affected in some way by this problem you are the exception. It is far more cost effective to provide services to help people deal with substance and alcohol problems than leave these people untreated and then become crime problems or kill or injure someone while driving under the influence. The cost to families and society is devestating. We must address this societal problem at the local level by providing treatment to people who need and want it. I will work to see that a de-tox is opened in San Luis Obispo County. |
