What I will you do to improve the safety of San Joaquin County residents.

By Steve Moore

Candidate for Sheriff-Coroner-Public Administrator; County of San Joaquin

This information is provided by the candidate
Increase the number of patrol deputies to respond to the increasing number of calls for service and reduce response times. Begin and implement the process to increase the number of jail beds so that inmates, who have been sentenced to the County Jail, will serve their full sentences and not be released early under a court ordered population cap. Continue to expand the Agricultural Crime Unit to meet the needs of the county's Agribusinesses. Seek partnerships with the local school districts to be able to deploy School Resource Deputies on school campuses to serve as role models to our youth while providing them with a safe environment to learn and become good citizens. Work to restore the state funding for the Multi Jurisdictional Methamphetamine Narcotics Task Force so that the Sheriff's Office can wage a better fight against the Methamphetamine trade not only in San Joaquin but the surrounding counties.
