Why I'm running for Poway City Council.By Joe St LucasCandidate for Council Member; City of Poway | |

Over the years I've represented the Homeowners Association at meetings with the City Staff and the City Council. For the last 18 yrs. I've been the Westgate Homeowners Association head. I've represented the neighborhood at many City Council meetings over the years. This includes shielding the neighborhood from Creekside Plaza by requiring the developer to move the trees from the creek bed to the south edge of the shops. I've fought against the Midland Rd. to South Poway Business Park extension via Gate Drive. I've worked with the neighbors in drafting the CUP's for the Dodge, Hyundai, and Honda car dealerships on Poway Rd. However, the problems encountered with the Honda dealership would not go away no matter how much we met with the City Council and staff to try to get the CUP's enforced. It was only the replacement of the General Manager that cleared up most of the problems we had with Honda. The major issue that is driving me to run for the City Council is the Council's refusal to enforce these agreements in a timely manner. |
