Candidate for Council Member; City of Oceanside

Big Picture Traffic Planning--no more piece meal planning
Traffic in Oceanside has been an issue for years. In the short time I have been on the city council (13 months), we have called for an update to the city's outdated Traffic Circulation Plan (no more piece meal planning). Big picture planning is important, especially when neighboring communities add or remove roads from their traffic circulation plans; I won't let Oceanside be left holding the bag for improvements to our roads and circulation by the planning decisions other cities make. Neighboring communities must be held accountable for the burden their development plans put on Oceanside residents. Oceanside needs a leader that listens to it's residents, and who is committed to getting the best results they can for Oceanside. That leader must always put Oceanside first on regional boards and commissions--I am that leader! As your representative on regional boards, I have secured funding for "SMART SIGNALS" + major upgrades to our present traffic signals which will give us the technology we need to lessen traffic congestion. SMART SIGNALS will coordinate each and every signal down our busiest traffic corridors to keep traffic moving smoothly! Between updating our outdated traffic circulation plan, and the installation of SMART SIGNALS, Oceanside residents will finally have relief from the traffic nighmares they have had to deal with for years!
