She has been ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN EDUCATION as School Board President; SYSD Finance Corporation President for the past 10 years; Our Lady of Mount Carmel School Board of Directors and PTG President; Casa Familiar Board Treasurer;Joint School Boards Representative and Boys Scout Leader. YOLANDA M. HERNANDEZ - As an employee of the San Diego City Schools brings 31 years of educational experiences and knowledge in: State, Federal, and categorical budgets, personnel, district procedures and instruction. YOLANDA M. HERNANDEZ - advocated and approved the new SUNSET and OCEAN VIEW HILL SCHOOLS, The NEW construction of WILLOW Elementary, the NEW Multicultural Center, Smythe Schools's NEW classrooms. NEW playground equipment. Computer Labs, MANDATORY uniforms, After School Programs NEW Children's Center and NEW Pre-K at Sunset, Parent Institutes and English As A Second Language Programs.
